The first "Picnic in the Park" was held Saturday, August 1st. It began at noon and wrapped up around 5:00. It was a great success for a first-time event! We had about 18 cars lined up in the grass so we could all enjoy looking at them while also enjoying the lake and natural beauty around us. The Pavilion was great! A perfect setting with room for more cars.
Jeff and I came early to start setting up with Lew and Cora joining us a bit later. Lew set up his sound system and we had great music all day. The set-up crew also brought fans, a great addition and much n, buteeded with the heat. They kept the airflow going nicely in the Pavilion.
We had some snacks and ice water for anybody who needed them. We had a great turnout with members from our club, the Philly MG club, and the DelVal Triumph club. Many thanks to the clubs for their support! We had such a great time, and it was really, really nice!
Wade, one of Rippert's sons, came with his muscle car a,nd helped set up the yard games (which no one enthusiastically or unenthusiastically played, but they looked great!)
