Anniversary Party - 2026

03/14/2026

Thirty-three members of the DVCMG gathered to celebrate 56 years of the club. Years that were filled with fun, food, travels, MGs, friendship, and great memories. Oh, and I forgot, beer.

Dick had taken the time to fill the room with pictures and posters, canvassing the past 56 years. It felt like we had our own little clubhouse in which to feast together.  Angleo’s never disappoints in their service and fare.

Great to see so many members there. Everyone seemed anxious to get on the road again. Or at least out of the cabin. Welcome to returning members Mark and Jan.

And of course, the highlight of the afternoon was the awarding of the Owards. Our MCs were Tom and Dick. These are awards given to folks who have had some type of incident while driving their MG. And being that the track cars get driven really hard, there is much there for candidates of an Oward. If you do think of something that does warrant an Oward pass it on to The Academy of Owards chairmen, Tom and Dick. Now for the Owards.

  • Adam received a clock from the March Hare, not to be late next time.
  • Jim received an award to replace the distributor gear.
  • Garth Gill took home many of the awards. Fix a flat, for tire issues on the track, shift knob on for when it pops off, and the Hot Dog Man for commandeering a hot dog suit at the Glen.
  • Tony received some worms in a can, with explicit instructions not to open the “Can of Worms”. This was awarded after doing a simple windshield frame repair, which moved to a new windshield, dash removal, etc, etc… you get the picture.
  • Ben and Cyndi, a blank check. For their unfortunate accident at last year’s Wildwood Weekend. It is good to know that their beautiful blue MGA is in the shop, and hopefully, they will be seeing the roads soon.

Also, in the spirit of the moment, but not an Owards, some other recognition. In a gesture of appreciation, Jim presented Dick and Tom with trophies for the invaluable help they have provided over the years for his racing.

Brian Gumpert was given recognition for being the photographer for the DVC.

Thank you to Pat and Patty
