On April 27, a large gathering was held at the Doerner’s home. Officially known as the "George Mellick Memorial Tech Session". Thirty-one people came out, with some of them actually doing some work on their MGs. Attending were, besides the hosts, Dave & Erin Alderfer (73 MGB), new member Ron Tomasello (on the hunt at the time), Paul & Evonna Phillips, friends Doug & Sharon MacWade (71 TR6), Dick & Sandy Sufferdini (62 MGA), Brian Gumpert (52 MG TD), Bill Gobel (67 MGB), Tom & Jaimee Rippert (57 MGA), Jim & Diane Sanders (75 MGB), Graham & Susie Gill (70 Morris Traveler), Tony & Diane Rizzello, Jeff Rose (73 MGB GT V8), Pat & Patty Cawthorne (? MGA), Jay Kaufman (? MG TF), Adam & Eva Ilnicki (? MG TD), Lyn Hughes, Louise Story, Chuck & Linda Daniels.
The garage was kept fairly busy, as Dave attempted to tighten his handbrake, Ron test-fitted himself into various cars, Brian chased a rattle, Jeff changed his oil, and Jay replaced his steering rack boots. Suff brought along his new exhaust gas sensor used for carb needle selection and tried it on Brian’s TD. There was probably other tuning going on that I didn’t catch... And lots of kibitzing. All ready for spring and summer driving!
The ladies, on the other hand, were indoors catching up and having fun with a variety of crafts. The buffet was full of great food, thanks to all who contributed.
And to top it off, we got to sing Happy Birthday to Tommy!
