The weather cooperated for a great fall driving day. We departed the Bucks
County Visitor's Center and headed to River Road Rt. 32 North. We drove
along the Delaware River for some great vistas but the foliage was
disappointing, the colors just were not there yet. We crossed into New
Jersey at Washington's Crossing and stopped into the park on N.J. side. A
short rest and a look at the Canal and off we went along the N.J. side of
the river. When we arrived in Lambertville we took a quick left and then a
right back on to Rt. 29 toward Stockton. In Stockton we headed back into Pa.
and noticed that the Williams were not with us. Little did we know but we
lost Barre and Eleanore Williams in Lambertville. Thank the lord for cell
phones. Dick and I called Barre and we got him headed in the right
direction. We all joined up and headed north to Easton on River Road again.
The drive was lovely and we made sure we kept all in sight. We arrived in Easton and found a British Store where we did a little shopping, and then off to lunch at Pearly Bakers Ale House with lots of English ale on tap as well as some spectacular Martinis! We all partook of the fine pub cuisine; I was partial to the fried trout wontons. After lunch we departed to tour the Crayola Store and The Canal Museum store. We departed for home with tops still down and thanked the MG gods for a beautiful day to drive our lovely British cars. In attendance were: Bob & Terri Tiley, Tom & Jaimee Rippert, Roy & Sue Dougherty, Cliff & Susan Hoch, Wolfgang & Gudrun Fischer, Allen & Joan Gerstle, Dick & Sandy Suffredini, Barre & Eleanore Williams, and David Sarley. |
