December 4, 2010
The 2010 annual Holiday Banquet was held on December 4th at the Bay Pony Inn in Lederach, PA. The event was attended by Bill & Linda Boorse, Jim & Janet Taylor, Ray & Faith DeCesare, Louise Store, Barre Williams and his son Michael, Jim & Marie O’Brien, Adam & Eva Ilnicki, Frank & Sandy Kern, Pat & Patty Cawthorne, Dave & Gloria Schwab, Jim & Diane Sanders, John & Pat Hunt, Jerry & Lee Keller, Dick & Sandy Suffredini, Paul & Evonna Phillips, Earl Wanklin, Tom & Jaimee Rippert, Bob & Terri Tiley, Penny Dates, Ernie & Barbara Feldgus, Greg & Janice Lake, Chuck Denlinger, Lew Phillips & Rita Mandik, Kris Phillips & Damian Schuman and Jeff & Robin Rose.
Festivities began with hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and the DVC tradition of selling raffle tickets for door prizes. Thank you to everyone who donated a gift for the raffle and to those who volunteered (or were drafted) to sell tickets. However, a special thank you goes out to Bob & Terri Tiley. Every year they take on the responsibility of purchasing the gifts for this event. It is a big undertaking and the club appreciates the excellent job they do. Thank you Bob & Terri!
After cocktails, dinner of filet mignon, chicken marsala or grilled mahi-mahi was served followed by chocolate mousse, coffee or tea and lively conversation. Based on the comments heard after dinner, everything was delicious and the service was excellent.
True to tradition, Tom Rippert & Dick Suffredini did a superb job in heading up distributing the door prize gifts. They always make this an enjoyable and entertaining part of the evening. The anticipation builds after Tom announces what color ticket has been pulled. You know right away if you are in the running for the prize being given away with that particular ticket. Thank you Tom & Dick.
In keeping with their annual tradition, Barre and Eleanor Williams awarded mugs to Jim and Diane Sanders.
The 2011 annual banquet is scheduled to be hosted by Chuck & Judy Goelz. If you weren’t able to make last year’s event, please plan on attending this year. You will be glad you did!
